Watch Dogs has been delayed into Spring 2014 in a last-minute move by the publisher, as the game was due to launch on current and next gen platforms next month. The publisher stated that the developers needed more time with the game to give it that final polish before its publication in order to deliver the best experience possible. Read on for more.

“We know a lot of you are probably wondering: Why now? We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.” was the statement issued by a Ubisoft spokesperson.

The decision to delay the game came after months of consideration, but the team decided finally that they were not ready to launch the title. They are working to make the title one of the biggest launches in the next generation of gaming, and the game is due to be a massive release in the market. Ubisoft will be sharing more details as we venture into 2014. This delay applies to ALL PLATFORMS.

One question remains; what will happen to those who have ordered a Watch Dogs Playstation 4 bundle? This was an official bundle being offered by Sony, and many customers have been offered to upgrade their solus pre-orders to this bundle. Will they be reverted back to the standard console with a choice of a different bundle? It all remains to be seen…
