PS Vita’s next round of SALES FIGURES released..

After a bumpy release of the PS VITA system due to a lack of software for the device at launch, the VITA is finally beginning to pickup. The handheld games console has shifted, according to Sony, 1.8 million units worldwide since it’s launch. This also means the console sold approx. 500,000 units in the last month. Kaz Hirai commented on the figures.

“A game platform, like Vita – the software is the key to success, how good the software is. We have to reinforce the software area in order to improve the business, that is the basic line” Hirai explained. “We still have a very high motivation to develop this further. There is no change. And services and software must be strengthened.

Anger and disgust from EU PS3 Owners over Pixeljunk sale charges..

PixelJunk Monsters (£1.99, €2.49) (€0.99 for Plus members)
PixelJunk Eden (£3.19, €3.99) (€0.99 for Plus members)
PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap (£3.19, €3.99) (€0.99 for Plus members)
PixelJunk Shooter (£3.19, €3.99) (€0.99 for Plus members)
PixelJunk Side Scroller (£3.19, €3.99)
PixelJunk Shooter 2 (£3.19, €3.99)

Those are the price for the PIXELJUNK games during their current sale. EU PS3 Gamers are furious at the fact the games are available at only 99c to Plus members, when in the US, all PS3 users can get the sale games for $0.99 each. SCEE decided to put an additional charge on the games sale price for non-Plus users, unlike the more generous SCEA executives.

Users are exclaiming in disgust on the PS EU Blog. A user said:

“It’s a bit disappointing to see you making those Pixeljunk games much more expensive for non-Plus members. It seems a bit unfair to have European gamers pay so much more for the same games. At a dollar a piece, I would have certainly given these games a try. At 4 euros a piece, I don’t think I’ll try them out.”

Jawad, the EU store announcement manager for the Blog explained in his reply to that particular user: “Unfortunately the pricing is something we have to make do with. It was a difficult decision and we only hoped to have done exactly the same sort of offer.”

Another user continued; “Also, all the Pixel Junk titles were priced at $1 for EVERYONE in the US. How does $1 convert to £3.19?”.

Jawad refused to answer any more queries related to the pricing after that. Have Sony made a big mistake?
