UPDATE (Feb 15th @ 17.10): A second picture of the rumoured PS4 prototype controller has been released today, giving a much better look at the controller than the last, and also making it look much nicer. Here is the picture in question…

It is clear now that the unknown item jutting out from the controller is a 3.5mm headphone jack, allowing the connection of a set of headphones, or, in some cases, a microphone. It is uncertain what Sony plan to do with this, however, with the inclusion of a speaker on the controller, there is a possibility that the controller could be a built in headset. The connection of a headset through the controller may also be possible.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE (Feb 14th @ 22.10): What is apparently a prototype of the PS4 controller has been leaked on the internet, first appearing on Kotaku. The controller shows the rumoured touch-pad, move integration and possibly a share button, which is semi visible jutting out of the controller (this button could be for any purpose however). Read on for a picture of the controller…

There is a light on the back, looking like the rumoured move component which was supposed to integrate motion control into the controller. Also present is the rumoured touch pad which is visible on the front of the device, where the START and SELECT buttons are on the previous Dualshock controllers. This certainly is only a prototype, so, if this is a real controller from a development unit, it is fully expected to be much more sleek and well designed when it makes its final debut as a finished product.
