As huge fans of Call of Duty, we are always excited to hear about the new DLC offerings from the Treyarch team. We particularly love zombies, and the new Apocalypse map pack really has us excited, with a trailer like nothing ever seen from Call of Duty zombies. This, is Origins.

Before we get to the zombies content, lets get the multiplayer maps out of the way. The map pack includes four multiplayer maps, as usual. Two maps are past maps which have been re-created; one being Courtyard from World at War (new name Dig) and the other being Stadium from Black Ops (named Take-off). Pod and Frost are the other two new maps, Pod being based in a failed utopian village; Frost taking place above a frozen ravine.

Now, in terms of zombies, as you can see from the trailer above, the studio is taking the original side-mode (which is almost as popular as multiplayer now) further than ever before. Origins (the new game mode), brings back the original four characters from World at War (Rictofen, Takeo, Tank and Nikolai). As can be seen from the trailer above, a huge machine-robot will be present on the map, and Treyarch have hinted at an alien mystery.

For those of us who can’t wait to play the map, it launches on Xbox 360 on August 27th, and comes one month later to Playstation 3 and PC. We’ll be bringing you a review of the map pack as soon after its release as possible!
