THE most delayed game of all time, Sega’s Aliens: Colonial Marines began development years ago, however, it went out of development, back into development and had a release date of Spring 2012 but now has a firm date of 12th Feb 2013. It has been announced the game is to get a limited and collectors edition. The collectors edition is exclusive to Amazon in the UK and, I believe it is Gamestop in the US.

SEGA® Europe Ltd., Gearbox Software and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products today announced both a Limited Edition and a Collector’s Edition for the highly anticipated Aliens: Colonial Marines™ video game, launching February 12, 2013 worldwide. Offering players a multitude of unique and exclusive content from the Aliens universe, including a selection of playable characters from the original 1986 movie for competitive multiplayer, the Limited Edition and the Collector’s Edition are available for preorder as of today.

Limited Edition for Pre-Order:

» Four Playable Movie Characters
» Players will be able to fight for their squad’s survival and confront hordes of enemies as the original ALIENS film icons Private Hudson, Corporal Hicks, Private Drake and Sergeant Apone.
» Additional Marines Character Customization Options
» Ripley’s Flamethrower

Collector’s Edition:

» High Quality Resin Powerloader Figurine in Limited Edition Xeno Hive Box
» Limited Edition of Aliens: Colonial Marines (content as outlined above)
» Exclusive Multiplayer Weapons
» Sonic Electronic Ball Breakers
» Phase Plasma Rifle
» Exclusive Game Level
» USCM Academy Firing Range
» USCM Dossier
» Mission Brief
» USS Sephora Schematic
» Recruitment Card
» LV-426 Recon Photo
» USCM Iron-on Badges
» USCM Graduation Certificate

PRICING: Pricing is surprisingly quite cheap for a collectors edition of this caliber! It costs £69.99 for console versions according to Amazon, this will presumably be approx $89.99-$99.99 and €89.99 ($ and € prices have not been confirmed). The PC version is priced £10 cheaper, at £59.99

So, as you can see, it is one FANTASTIC collectors edition, especially for Alien megafans (such as myself!).
